Interfaith Encounters - General Study Sessions

The Jerusalem Youth Interfaith Encounter Group Renews its Activity on 25th November 2008:

The Jerusalem Young Adults group had its first and blessed encounter on Tuesday, November 25th 2008, after a long break of nearly a year.

We welcome all the new friends who joined and invite all young adults who hesitated till now – to join the group and contribute as much as he or she is willing and able to the development of interfaith encounter among the members of the group.

We also wish to greet and welcome the new Jewish coordinator of the group – Amevet Rada – and wish her much success in her important activity as coordinator and member of IEA. We are also grateful to her for her efforts to invite new members to the group.

The encounter began with a short overview of the dynamics that developed during the years between the members of the group and of the respectful atmosphere the group's members aspire to.

Following a round of acquaintance between the members the conversation started.

Although the theme selected for the encounter was "My connection to my creator", we already applied the group's practice and people preferred to spend most of the time on inquiries about Islam. The theme developed and widened in good spirit and many of the questions got basic and introductory answers in order to create common denominator between members with a lot of background and knowledge and members who take their first steps in the group and in interfaith dialogue.

The group agreed to meet again on Tuesday, December 30th at Village Green.
