Women's Interfaith Encounter

3 Activities of our Jerusalem Women's Interfaith Encounter Group - March/April 2008:

Jerusalem WIE Monthly Meeting Tuesday March 4th, 2008

WIE Jewish, Muslim and Christian women gathered that evening at the STI as usually. Though we couldn't see the film scheduled for the evening, due to technical problems - a film about Women Sufi in Iran, brought by our member Felicie Rosenberg we were fortunate to meet a group of German Christian clergymen and women being in Israel for a short study seminar interested in hearing about our work and our personal involvement in IEA. We introduced ourselves had an exchange of views, discussing particularly our vision of a pluralistic society living in peace while recognizing and respecting each other's religion and customs.

Friday 28 March 2008 Traditional Festive Shabbat Dinner

Evelyne Savir was delighted to share this traditional event with a group of Christian and Jewish visitors from Philadelphia at her home in Jerusalem. This experience - a first for at least one person - was part of their fact finding mission to the Holy Land and their being introduced to WIE/IEA vision and activities. (On that evening five other coordinators and active people of IEA hosted other members of the delegation).

WIE Monthly Meeting Tuesday April 8th, 2008

Our monthly meeting took place at the STI as usually. We were fortunate to have representatives of three religions, Christian, Muslim and Jewish. Our meeting was very informal nevertheless very informative. While sharing a light meal we learned about each other's customs and traditions for the Easter and Passover Holydays. We started to plan our trip to Haifa, in order to visit the Bahai Holy Places.
