Interfaith Encounters - General Study Sessions

Identity - Jaffa-Tel Aviv Interfaith Encounter on 6th June 2006:

This month, the Jaffa-Tel Aviv Interfaith Encounter group had a very interesting meeting - and in a new charming place. We met in Suzette's amazing studio, in the garden - it felt very comfortable and homey, thank you Suzette for having us.

Many new faces arrived this time as well. The conversation mainly focused on the theme of "Identity", each participant sharing their perspective of identity and how each person defines his own identity. It was very interesting to see how the subject translates differently with each person- how he or she related to it, and how each and every one of the participants had a new angle to add to the discussion. A lot was learned from everybody. During the meeting, a few social activity ideas came up- for instance, creating encounters in different buildings in the city, while the group serves as base. We did not dig deep into the subject, but it was decided to do so in the future.

The next meeting, scheduled for July 5, was postponed. Ihab and Nitsana will meet with the Interfaith Encounter Association's Executive Director, Yehuda Stolov in order to continue and create a clear & strong path for the group. Furthermore, we did not like the fact that we could not find a date that would suit everyone, and did not want to set one regardless to the fact that some people will not be able to attend. We will try to find a regular date that will suit every one in the group- for instance, the second Sunday of every month.
