Retired Teachers - Sawa Rabina Interfaith Encounter Group on 14th February 2009:

Honorary Evening for Retired Teachers – February 14th 2009

Sawa Rabina Interfaith Encounter group, in cooperation with the Community Center of M'ghar, organized the honorary evening for the retired teachers in the town.

Forty two teachers with their spouses took part in this evening, as well as all primary, secondary and high school principles and the director of the community center Adv. Farid Ghanem.

They all greeted the retired teachers and thanked them for their long work during their time as teachers. They also thanked the Sawa Rabina forum for all its activities and for its cooperation, especially with the amazing past of these teachers.

Also attended a few of the schools' supervisors, as Mr. Yusef Daghash the English supervisor and the Sheikh Salah Alsheikh, members of the community center and the Sawa Rabina forum, with religious people of all communities in the town.

The program started with refreshments and including a special gift for each of the teachers. Then we listened to a song by the poet Salman Khalil Daghash.

Each of the following said a few words of greeting: Mr. Hamouda Katish – Chair of the Sawa Rabina forum, Adv. Farid Ghanem – director of the Community Center, Mr. Abdallah Abu Zid – manager of the Arab-Israeli Bank in M'ghar and Zid Balous – representative of the retired teachers.

Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim, a National Insurance advisor, gave a presentation about the rights of the retired people.

Finally we heard the town's band and watched a circus performance.

The evening was marvelous!
